Rory Olson –President & Chief Executive Officer
Rory Olson is a highly accomplished entrepreneur and public company executive with a proven track record of having founded, restructured and operated various companies from start-up stage to mature public company.
Mr. Olson is the founder of Wall Street Survivor whose mission is to promote financial literacy.
Prior to that, he served as Chief Operating Officer of privately held Airborne Entertainment Inc., where in addition to making an investment he was responsible for the day-to-day operations of the mobile content publisher. The company was subsequently sold to a large Japanese mobile products company.
He founded and served as Chief Executive Officer of TeleNet Communications in the early nineties, a pioneer in Canada’s re-sale long distance industry. Within 2 years he grew TeleNet’s billing base to in excess of $40 million per annum, and later sold to a US-based carrier. Mr. Olson then co-founded TotalNet Inc. in the mid-nineties, which grew to become Canada’s largest and most successful, privately owned ISP. In 1998, he engineered its sale to IMPACT Immedia, where he held the position of Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer.
Among Mr. Olson’s major accomplishments was the structuring and creation of BCE Emergis (a joint venture between BCE Inc and MPACT), which, under his stewardship as Executive Vice President of Business Development, went on to become Canada’s foremost electronic commerce company. Subsequent to that he was a founding member of SureFire Commerce an Internet based payment processing company, as well as its President and Chief Executive Officer until its sale in 2002.
Kevin McGarr, MSM, MBA –Advisor to the President & CEO
As former CEO of CATSA, Mr. McGarr brings to VOTI an invaluable amount of expertise and experience in the aviation sector. Before being appointed President and Chief Executive Officer, Kevin held a number of senior management positions at the Canadian Air Transport Security Authority, the agency sharing responsibility for civil aviation security with several federal government departments and agencies, air carriers and airport operators. Upon completing his tenure as CEO, Mr. McGarr was appointed President by the Board of Directors of the Pearson Centre, a not-for-profit corporation working in the peace and security environment, promoting the conditions for a more peaceful world.
William Awad, M.Eng. – Founder and CTO
Mr. Awad sits on the board of directors of VOTI Inc. and also holds the position of Chief Technical Officer. He has twenty years of experience in research and development, electronics design and manufacturing. Before founding VOTI, Mr. Awad was President and CEO of LPS International, a technology firm specializing in business applications and video-security systems. He holds a Masters degree in Electrical Engineering.
John Mancini CPA, CA. – Chief Financial Officer
John Mancini has more than 30 years of experience as a pro-active business leader with high impact leadership skills enabling profitable change initiatives. With a wide range of M&A experience in the international and domestic sectors, he has completed several successful and profitable transactions in the telecom, energy and defense industries. John spent 17 years in the Bell Canada group executing senior finance responsibilities in the Yellow Pages Group, notably as CFO, and Vice President, International. The Yellow Pages Group had properties in Hong Kong, Australia, the Middle East, India and the Caribbean. John was a Shareholder and Director of a successful manufacturing business specializing in high voltage insulating systems in Montreal, as well as the manufacturing in France, of masts, antennas, and vehicle protection systems for the defense industry. As CFO, he played a leading role in the structured sale of the Energy business to a US public company, and of the Defense business to a Norwegian public company.
Richard Shatilla, B.Com. – Vice President, Global Sales
Richard Shatilla holds the position of VP Global Sales at VOTI. Prior to joining the company, Richard garnered extensive sales and marketing experience with companies such as Xerox and Domaine Global Solutions. Richard holds a Bachelor of Commerce degree with a focus in Marketing from the John Molson School of Business at Concordia University. With 10 years of experience in a number of strategic roles, Richard has earned a strong track-record in both sales and marketing, and brings this experience to VOTI’s growing team. In particular, Richard’s specialization in the area of equipment rental and leasing will help open new opportunities for VOTI.
Charles Garneau Chief Operations & Production Officer
Charles is an experienced technology executive with a proven track record for leading world-class Hardware/Software design, NPI, Manufacturing and Support/Service/Maintenance engineering teams.
Over his 35 year career, Charles has developed expertise in several domains: engineering and operations assessment, optimization of operations, COGS reduction initiatives and benchmarking, start-up scalability, management of cross-functional teams, worldwide logistics and reversed logistics, field performance analytics, strategic partnership in sourcing, manufacturing, agile delivery, product management, product design, industrial design, solution architecture, R&D processes with their related Canada/Quebec subsidies, IP protection and retention. Charles is recognized for delivering several high ROI/high strategic value products to worldwide markets with support of geographically dispersed (Barbados, Canada, Denmark, Hong Kong, Japan, Mainland China, Malaysia, Mexico, Singapore, South Korea, Taiwan, UK, USA, Vietnam) teams of ODM, OEM, acoustics / chemical /electronic / mechanical / optical / software engineers, supply chain specialists, quality assurance/control experts, manufacturing/production engineers, logistics/service/maintenance professionals, senior producers, product analysts, industrial designers and researchers.
